Manual Handling Training and Advice
The 2007 Labour Force Survey revealed that musculoskeletal disorders are by far the most common condition that is felt to be caused or made worse by current or past work. Musculoskeletal disorders are closely followed by work-related stress, anxiety and depression. Musculoskeletal disorders and more specifically, back pain and back injury can be minimised through robust risk assessments, safe systems of work and Manual Handling Training Programmes.
Through consultation, Health 1st can assist you in ensuring that your workplace promotes a safe environment for moving and handling objects and people.
Advice and assistance is given on adopting safe systems of work in line with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations and other related legislation and a Manual Handling Training Programme can be devised to suit the needs of your organisation and its employees.
The Manual Handling Programme can consist of short ‘Toolbox Talks’ so that a large proportion of the workforce can receive job-related, relevant Manual Handling Training, to longer more detailed Moving and Handling Programmes.
Key Trainer Manual Handling Programmes can also be developed so that key staff in your organisation can deliver Manual Handling Training to employees on an ongoing basis, thereby saving time and money.
